Job Vacancy: CADCAM Programmer / CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

Rockwood Composites is seeking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator. This opportunity has emerged due to an expanding order book, driven by exciting projects within the Aerospace, Medical, Defence and Cryogenic industries.

Rockwood is an engineering and manufacturing facility based in Paignton dedicated to the composites industry. The successful candidate will be part of a skilled machine shop team who will be involved with production machining as well as one off items such as tooling and fixturing.

This is a permanent and secure position within a company committed to the continuous development and upskilling of its team, ensuring that skillsets are always advancing.

Rockwood Composites is looking for a self-motivated team player who can work effectively within tight timescales.

The successful candidate will possess a robust background in programming, setting, and operating 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC Machines. Experience with various controls and proficiency in CADCAM software programming is desirable.

There will also be training opportunities for candidates who wish to progress their CADCAM Skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting and operating a variety of CNC Machines 3,4 and 5 axis
• Programming/ Editing programmes using ¬controls or using CADCAM software
• CADCAM Programming experience will be highly advantageous
• Supporting other machinists to ensure work is caried out on time
• Experience interpreting Engineering Drawings
• Work to tight tolerances and inspection of own work
• To work to your own initiative and understand manufacturing processes

Knowledge and Experience

• Strong knowledge and experience of component machining
• Strong knowledge of Program languages
• A good understanding of Engineering Drawings and Tolerances
• Ability to work to tight tolerances
• Ability to set and operate 3,4,5 Axis CNC Machines
• Composites machining experience is not essential

Personal Attributes:
 

• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.

• Approachable with good interpersonal skills.

• Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative.

Salary and Info:

​

• Full time position (40 hours).  Mon – Thurs 07:00 – 16:00.  Friday 07:00 – 13:00

• Salary – Negotiable depending on experience.

• Company Pension Plan - Employer contributions of 3% (5% employee contributions).

• Holiday 31 days (including Bank Holidays)
