Job Vacancy: Quality Engineer

We are a small technology driven company, with an extensive list of Blue Chip clients providing equipment into the Aerospace, Defence, Medical, Metrology and many other sectors

This job covers all aspects of quality composite manufacture. We are looking for a practical engineer with a keen eye for detail and an in depth knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.

 

The role entails the creation of manufacturing quality plans and inspection records, the inspection of incoming and production parts. The control of quarantine materials and calibration of measurement equipment.

 

The position will suit a methodical person with good communication skills, who is able to support the needs of our production environment and communicate with our customers both verbally and written.

Job Responsibilities:

​

The Quality Engineer will report to the Production Manager and be responsible for:

  • Ensure Goods-in inspection and quality assurance of products leaving the business.

  • Aid in maintaining the Quality Assurance procedures and other associated procedures, documents, instructions and forms.

  • Assisting in carrying out regular audits of procedures, processes and products.

  • Ensuring that corrective actions which are identified to reduce non-conformity are fully implemented.

  • To complete assessments of suppliers.

Skills/Qualification:

​​

  • Experience in mechanical inspection techniques and associated equipment.  Knowledge of CMM would be desirable.

  • Worked in a quality department involving standards such as ISO 9001 & AS9100.

  • Applicants should have extensive knowledge of quality assurance systems and quality tools and techniques, within an engineering environment.

  • Experience and understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings.

Personal Attributes:
 

  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.

  • Approachable with good interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative.

​

Salary and Info:

​

  • Full time position (40 hours).  Mon – Thurs 07:00 – 16:00.  Friday 07:00 – 13:00

  • Salary – Negotiable depending on experience.

  • Company Pension Plan - Employer contributions of 3% (5% employee contributions).
